This Chromebook is actually a very usable computer versus those netbooks in the old days. Bought this Acer model based on reviews of higher performance but so so display. The reviews are mostly correct. Performance is more than acceptable for general browsing with multiple tabs. It boots fast. Playing local multimedia or streaming it, both work as expected. Performance limit is not reached until I tried to do some "photoshop" type work. Can reasonably load and process one photo at a time but can't really import 100's of photos from a DSLR and work on them like you would with a PC. All types of I/O interface work well except Bluetooth. Can connect to a bluetooth speaker initially but had problems maintaining the connection. If you use bluetooth a lot, test it out in the store first before buying. The display is better than what was reported in the reviews I read. Other chromebook displays may be a tad brighter but this one is totally usable. Much was made of the limited angles of view and it may be technically true, but it's not a problem in real world usage. This chromebook is a highly capable, lightweight replacement/alternative for a PC. It can do all the typical web based tasks like email, FB, streaming, etc. I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend this to a friend. Bluetooth is the only caveat, based on one time test with only one device.
